From the very inception humans have the inner craving to know ALLAH. The soul is always on the path of self discovery. When a person is born, his inner self forces him to know his true identity because the inner self gently but strongly pushes him to realize his true self, but the person, who is enveloped in worldly pursuits, finds himself in a confused state and indulges in assorted activities.Some run after material success,believing it to be, be all and end all of the universal show. Some take up scholarly pursuits and are always found digging into new books and subjects. Some indulge in philanthropic activities. All these actions are wrongfully perceived to be the perfect answers for dousing the fire of the restless inner self. Some put a foot forward with the desire to know ALLAH but they busy themselves in savouring the blissful sights of ALLAH's creation. Most of the time elevated saints (Lahooti saints ), in the ranks abdal,qutb,ghous,fard,abd,sultan-ul-Aulia… busy themselves in the application of supernatural powers ( which they accumulate when their inner being is awakened), these distractions keep them away from absolute mergence with the infinite.The negative tendencies of the mind work overtime to distract man’s mind away from realizing true Faqr-e-Muhammed(P.B.U.H) and fana-fi-ALLAH.
People don't come to know what this inner craving is all about and try various methods which momentarily give them, false satisfaction, and such a vicious cycle never ends, this is the play of negative tendencies and egoistic bent of mind, which continues to keep them away from knowing ALLAH.

| What exactly is this inner craving which has kept men on their toes, from time immemorial? |
This is the deeply embedded inner desire of the soul to reach it's true self. There have always been a handful of people who have actually been able to understand the true meaning of it. They were,and are, known to be Faqirs (Saints). They have always tried hard to make people understand the real substance behind this inner craving of the soul.Those people who followed the footsteps of these Faqirs, patiently and finally came to realize ALLAH themselves. Putting their inner doldrums at complete and permanent rest.
Quranic verse:
“Beware! No doubt, the true saints are free from all sorts of sorrows and apprehensions”.
The saints have always preached that except the remembrance of ALLAH everything else is complete waste and perishable. There are no desires left when one comes to realize ALLAH. The saints have always preached complete mergence with ALLAH is the climax of spirituality.Hazrat Sultan Bahu(ra) has said that the ability to remain in constant attendance at the court of Hazrat Muhammed (P.B.U.H) and complete command over rituals to seek spiritual guidance from departed saints (dawat-ul-qaboor), along with permanent mergence with ALLAH are the true symptoms of highest spiritual attainments.

| Why common people don't feel the same passion as is expressed by Aulia-ALLAH ? |
A common man gets attracted to, and desires for worldly acquisitions only because he has already had a fair amount of idea of it. A man desires for the joys of heaven because he measures and magnifies its quality and quantum with reference to what he has really experienced in this world. The Ahadees also has detailed description of beautiful damsels only because anybody can form a mental image of a beautiful lady. Now it becomes very obvious that because a common man cannot mentally perceive the other bounties of paradise.Therefore he cannot feel attracted towards them. The quality and quantum cannot be measured with anything as reference on earth , because it is immeasurable and incomparable.
Similar species attract each other and never want to intermingle with other species. An eagle would have attraction and therefore would want to mingle with an eagle only. Species of one form socialize with the species of their own form only.
Similarly when a heart is filled by the eternal light of ALLAH, then such a heart would always try to establish a connection with the supreme source of that eternal light. No amount of reading books, no amount of long prayers would help such people who do not have the slightest idea of what this eternal light is ? Therefore such people would never get to tread the right path, they might get temporary solace in some other work, but that would surely not be the right path that can take him up to ALLAH.

| How to infuse the eternal holy light in a heart? |
After realizing ALLAH, true saints have always praised him. Common people have not been able to figure out,why a saint always preaches to be one with ALLAH. ALLAH is pure cosmic light.How can a layman comprehend what this cosmic light is ? How can he know the taste of this blissful union.Why are saints always agreeable with the deeds of ALLAH? Why the saints always remain aloof from all the criticism ? Why they don't even fear for their life? What they only know is ALLAH and only ALLAH !!! And nobody else.
A lamp lights a lamp, a life brings another life and only a self realized being can lead others to self realization . A soul that is dying to be one with ALLAH doesn’t feel the same amount of love towards ALLAH, as a faqir feels towards ALLAH. The remedy for this situation is that the disciple must shed all his inhibitions and remain in the holy company of a faqir, with a pure heart, and the positive vibrations from the master would kindle the fire of love for ALLAH.
